Open fantasy grassland in an emulator window beside a frame-time graph

"Dynamic FPS mod BOTW" is another search where two worlds collide: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Minecraft. If you want to change how Breath of the Wild handles frame rate, you need projects made for that game. Dynamic FPS Mod, the subject of this site, only works in Minecraft: Java Edition.

Quick answer

There is no connection between Dynamic FPS Mod for Minecraft and Breath of the Wild. The Minecraft mod is a .jar file for Java mod loaders, and it cannot be loaded by any Zelda game or emulator.

How frame-rate mods relate to BOTW

Breath of the Wild was released on both Wii U and Nintendo Switch, and players emulating it on PC have long used community frame-rate tweaks. For example, Cemu users often discuss graphic packs such as FPS++. Switch emulator users have their own set of community mods.

These tools are made by separate communities, follow their own install methods and are updated on their own schedules. They share the idea of frame rate with Dynamic FPS Mod, but nothing else.

This site does not provide Zelda mods, emulators or game files. Only use emulators with games you legally own, and download community mods from their original creators.

Different goals, not just different games

Even the purpose differs. Frame-rate mods for Zelda games usually try to make gameplay smoother or more consistent while you are playing. Dynamic FPS Mod does the opposite kind of job: it reduces frame rate when you are not looking at Minecraft, to save work in the background.

Search tips

  • Add the platform to your search, such as "Cemu" or the emulator name, when looking for BOTW tweaks.
  • Add "Minecraft" when you want Dynamic FPS Mod.
  • Skip download sites that rename files or wrap them in installers.
